Per Olivia, "I chose to craft a hippie-inspired dress from beautiful ivory lace fabric that I got from Farmhouse Fabrics. The moment I saw the fabric, I knew it was perfect. Its delicate, intricate patterns and soft texture were ideal for creating a dress that would be both breezy and elegant. The ivory lace had a timeless quality, evoking a sense of nostalgia while also feeling fresh and contemporary.

I started with the Verbena bodice as the foundation of the dress. The bodice’s design is inherently simple yet sophisticated, offering a clean canvas that could be easily customized. My daughter prefers narrower straps, so I modified the original design to accommodate her preference. This small adjustment made the dress more personalized and ensured it would be more comfortable for her to wear, especially in the heat. Next, I focused on the skirt. I chose the Dandelion maxi skirt for its flowing, graceful silhouette. The lightweight lace fabric and the loose fit of the skirt made it an excellent choice for staying cool in the hot Texas weather."
