One of our talented customers, Leilani, sewed this gorgeous dress for her granddaughter's wedding using the appropriately named "Champagne Toast" bobbinette! This dress was a labor of love and was a mashup of patterns, but it was well worth it. Per Leilani, "The skirt used Simplicity 1459, a 1950s vintage pattern. The bodice was Simplicity 4552, and I used "Pattern Fitting with Confidence" by Nancy Zieman to get a perfect fit by lowering the darts and adding to the waist. The sleeves were from the jacket on Simplicity 9473. They came out a little shorter than I wanted, so I added cuffs. For the skirt, I used Simplicity 1459, a 1950s vintage pattern, as I wanted it very full. I used your beautiful beaded and glitter (it is all over my house, lol) polyester bobbinette for the bodice and sleeves. I lined the bodice with ballet pink (thanks for the help!!) Imperial batiste and the skirt is blush pink crepe-backed satin. I was going to line the skirt but decided not to, as the reception was outside and it was 95 that day." Thank you so much for allowing us to share you in your special dress, Leilani!
