Tribute to Ms. Dot, Heirloom Garments Sewn by the Extraordinary Ms. Dot
Ms. Dot was one of our wonderful customers and sewed exquisite heirloom garments for fun. She was a saucy, charming lady who sewed for 80 years! She was 5 feet tall & drove a classic 1950's Buick that looked like it had just driven off the lot. She was a properly dressed woman who had the imagination of an artist. When she would arrive at Farmhouse with her latest haul of perfectly pressed gowns that would be decorated with an array of special touches like pattern adaptations, hand embroidery where she incorporated in her own designs & a humble attitude stating that her garments were 'just ordinary'! Ms. Dot used exquistite quality fabrics including Swiss batiste, Swiss flannel, Dotted Swiss, Swiss muslin "Fairy Fabric", Fine French and Swiss laces, Mother of Pearl Buttons. She used a variety of vintage patterns as well as Old Fashioned Baby patterns by Jeannie Baumeister.We are pleased to be able to share her extraordinary heirloom treasures with you!
